Poetry – Written Visuals.
Before I became intertwined in the visual art spectrum I spent hours writing and punching at typewriters, I was encapsulated by how people could masterfully weave beautiful thoughts together world by word. How they could dot and separate phrases to make the wind turn to a breeze and the hot sunlight slow down and soften into a orange haze. I was lucky enough to share a handful of months with fellow writers and poets in a group called Old Growth NW. I worked on my writing, and when I was just starting to dip my toes into video work, recorded some of them reading pieces we had been working through for Old Growths’ featured reading night. I particularly like this piece Nick performed that night, he is a great performer as well as a writer.
I have always been drawn to these folks. I love being surrounded by these types of people in my life and I feel so blessed.
